Given that neither Elin nor her rowing partner had ever been out to sea before, and had only had a few hours rowing lessons it was a mammoth experience. But the 77 day adventure captured 's Elin's passion for the ocean, and fourteen months later she was heading out to sea again. This time in an all-female crew of four across the vast expanse of the Indian Ocean. Despite being battered by the elements, experiencing equipment failure and injury to the crew, the girls completed the 3500m challenge in 78 days, setting a world first record. In 2011, Elin decided to learn how to sail, and was welcomed aboard La Reponse by (then) RORC Commodore Andrew McIrvine. Having learnt so much under Andrew's command Elin departs for China at the end of February, where she will set sail across the Pacific Ocean as part of the Clipper Round the World Yacht Race - with the hope of completing a 'hat-trick' of oceans. Beyond the adventure, Elin is also passionate about raising money for charity, and to date has raised £250,000 for charities close to her heart.
Elin is now stating to challenge herself in the sailing world.
