INTERNATIONAL IRC (Endorsed) REGATTA

CLASSES: IRC Endorsed
Organised by the Royal Ocean Racing Club in association with the Royal Yacht Squadron CHALLENGES: (which need not identify the boats) on the official form (available from the RORC) shall be lodged by a Member National Authority. RORC shall have the discretion to accept a Challenge or Challenges from two or three Member National Authorities in combination, with the intention that any such team is representative of an identifiable region (e.g. Scandinavia) and each boat in any such team shall be required to meet the requirements of NoR 13 (Nationality) by reference to one of the nations comprising the combined team. Challenges shall be made on or before Monday 26th May 2008. Late challenges may be accepted at the discretion of the RORC
NUMBER OF TEAMS: Each Member National Authority or combination of Member National Authorities may send up to four teams.
BOAT/TEAM ELIGIBILITY: A team shall consist of three boats, one from each of the following rating bands:

(DLR = Displacement Length Ratio - as printed on each boat's IRC (Endorsed) certificate)
Each boat shall have:
a. a valid IRC (Endorsed) certificate (see NoR 9). Note: Boats rated under IRC for the use of moveable and/or variable ballast, for the purpose of increasing stability, are not eligible.
b. a minimum STIX numeral of 23 with a minimum AVS (angle of vanishing stability) of 130 - 0.005 x m (where m is minimum sailing weight in Kg).
SPECIAL REGULATIONS: Category 3 with RORC prescriptions plus (Offshore Special Regulations Category 2) liferaft
NATIONALITY: At least 50% (rounded up e.g. a crew of 9 = 5) of the crew of each boat on board in any race shall comprise individuals who are Nationals of the country of the relevant team or individuals who have since 1 June 2007 had their principal residence in that country or individuals who were born in that country. Proof of Nationality, residence or birth may be required.
ISAF COMPETITOR CLASSIFICATION CODE: ISAF Regulation 22, Sailor Classification Code, shall apply. Details of the ISAF Competitor Classification Code and information on how to register and classify can be found on the ISAF website: www.sailing.org/classification.
Sailors requiring a classification should apply, in plenty of time, on the ISAF website www.sailing.org/isafsailor
Any crew member not classified will be assumed to be Group 3.
