Madeira - Cowes Race: Jamaica Clipper starts in Madeira Print E-mail
Friday, 22 August 2008

Jamaica Clipper, second boat to start Madeira-Cowes RaceJamaica Clipper was the second yacht to start the Madeira - Cowes race at 1100 BST 22nd August 2008.

With the prospect of a 50% (minimum 5 place) penalty for being OCS (on course side of the starting line) and a fleet of only five boats all the competitors are understandably line shy! Jamaica crossed the line about one minute after the gun on a beautiful sunny atlantic morning with a brisk NE trade wind blowing.

The next start will be at 1100 on Monday morning.
