Corinthian Bridge Club

Classes and Sessions to suit all abilities; from Total Beginners to Experienced bridge players
Tutored Classes (Beginners, Improvers, Duplicate Bridge) and open play (‘Rubber Dub’) – Open to all!

CORINTHIAN BRIDGE CLUB CLASSES AND SESSIONS
Tutored Classes – our ‘in-house’ senior tutor is Marilyn Barrell, English Bridge Union (EBU) Accredited Teacher
ACOL – all classes are based on Standard British ACOL Bridge
Classes - 1½ hour lessons

BEGINNERS CLASS – TUTORED/Marilyn Barrell and Gay Bessant
Suitable for:
- Total Beginners
- Those with some prior knowledge but wishing to refresh/start again

IMPROVERS CLASS – TUTORED/Marilyn Barrell
Focusing on advancing from Beginners for those looking to enjoy a good level of competency for social bridge
- Those progressing from previous Beginners Class attendance
- Those with good basic knowledge and wishing to expand or refresh their skills
- Those wishing to convert their existing skills to Standard British ACOL

DUPLICATE BRIDGE CLASS – TUTORED/Marilyn Barrell
Focusing on advancing Duplicate Bridge for those wishing to
- Develop skills of club bridge
- Develop partnership communication skills
- Those wishing to convert their existing Duplicate Bridge skills to Standard British ACOL
NB It is a requirement for Duplicate Class enrolled members to pre-book, weekly in advance, for this class to ensure workable numbers for Duplicate Bridge

‘RUBBER DUB’ – OPEN SESSION/UNTUTORED
Open Session: Rubber and Chicago Bridge
- Rubber and Chicago Bridge in a social environment
- For mixed ability players, able to play without supervision
- No partner required. Turn up to play and meet new bridge friends
- Occasional special events and introductory Duplication Bridge sessions
- For Improvers and guests – practice your lessons’ skills!

CLASS ATTENDANCE & NUMBERS – will be requested weekly, in advance, to assist with lesson planning

Session 1              1400 - 1530          Beginners Bridge Class – Tutored/Marilyn Barrell or Gay Bessant
                               1530 - 1600          Break

Session 2              1600 – 1730         Improvers Class – Tutored/Marilyn Barrell
                               1730 – 1800         Break

Session 3              1800 - 1930          Duplicate Bridge Class - Tutored/Marilyn Barrell
                               1800 - 1930          ‘Rubber-Dub – Untutored

CORINTHIAN BRIDGE CLUB YEAR 2018/2019 inclusive, Thursdays weekly:
Term 1                  Autumn 2018                     4 October – 13 December 2018 inclusive (11 weeks)
Term 2                  New Year 2019                  10 January – 28 February 2019 inclusive (8 weeks)
Term 3                  Spring 2018                         7 March – 25 April 2019 inclusive (ex 18/4/19) (7 weeks)

The RORC was founded in 1925 to encourage long distance yacht racing and the design, building and navigation of sailing vessels in which speed and seaworthiness are combined. Today the club encourages ocean, long distance and other forms of yacht racing and yachting activity.
