RORC joining criteria

Candidates for Full Membership must have a good background of racing experience, and completed not less than 500 miles racing offshore including at least two nights at sea, and if possible at least one RORC race, within the last five years.

You are welcome to apply for Provisional Membership which will give you the full advantages of being a Club Member (except flying the burgee or wearing the Club tie) while you are completing the qualifying mileage. Provisional Membership may continue for a maximum of two years.

You will need to be proposed and seconded by a member of the Club, and sponsored by a RORC Committee Member. Overseas applicants may be sponsored by the Commodore of their local Yacht Club. A Committee member is usually available at every RORC race, or introductions may be requested. A certificate of competency must be signed by the skipper of a boat on which the candidate has completed a qualifying race; if you are the owner this need not be signed.

Half the annual subscription except Members joining under the age of 28 and Provisional Members.
