Early July in Cowes will see the cream of the IRC fleets converge in Cowes for the IRC National Championships.

The current holder of the title, Whooper, owned by Giovanni Belgrano will be back to defend her title against what is expected to be four classes of IRC boats within ratings of 0.850 to 1.450.

Up to eight races are scheduled with a mixture of windward/leeward and round the buoys courses designed to accommodate the various strengths and weaknesses of the competing boats. There will be prizes for class winners as well as an overall prize.

With the rating system providing a great leveller this event is a fantastic opportunity for the smaller IRC boats to pit their wits against the pure racing machines such as the TP52’s.

The NoR and entry list can be found at http://www.rorc.org/racing/race-documents Event closing date is the 20th June 2019.
