Tiny Mitchell Gentlemen's Lunch

A former Commodore of the Royal Corinthian Yacht Club in Burnham, he wanted to sail his 6 metre in the Solent and as a result bought Rosa Lewis's estate. He set up the Southern branch of what was then the Royal Corinthian. Today this building is now the RORC Cowes Clubhouse and this Gentlemen’s lunch celebrates the desire of Tiny Mitchell to promote and develop sailing in the Solent.

Join us for a two-course lunch that pays homage to the accomplishments of Rosa Lewis who purchased Castle Rock, now known as the RORC Cowes Clubhouse, in 1925 and used it as a retreat for gentlemen visiting the Royal Yacht Squadron.

The RORC was founded in 1925 to encourage long distance yacht racing and the design, building and navigation of sailing vessels in which speed and seaworthiness are combined. Today the club encourages ocean, long distance and other forms of yacht racing and yachting activity.
