The stage is set for glory in the 2025 Offshore Double Handed World Championships Final. With the Solent becalmed, the race committee pushed the start west to North Head, outside Hurst Narrows — and the gamble paid off. On Monday 29 September at 15:00 BST the fleet surged away in a light south-westerly, a tense beat unfolding toward the first mark, Peveril Ledge. The tide will turn west around 17:00 BST, a slingshot that could reshape the race as the 114-mile course drives into the night.

Early moves are already defining the battle: Karl Otto Book and Maren Magda Book (NOR 1) with Théa Khelif and Thomas Andre (FRA 1) seized the north side of the course to make early gains, while Lina Rixgens/Sverre Reinke (GER) and Anna Drouge/Martin Angsell (SWE 1) gambled south further offshore.
One thing is certain: the world title will not be absolute until at the earliest Tuesday afternoon on the 30th September. Deciding which of the eleven teams from four continents will win the world title is almost impossible to predict.
